In the present scenario, human resource managers face more challenges as many changes are happening in the present working and external environment. The entry of women into the work force has created an imbalance in the family and in the work place. When an increase in number of women joining the paid workforce, there is an increase in demand for the workplace flexibility, also demand for childcare and eldercare facility. In order to stabilize it or to reduce the imbalance many policies have been designed to balance personal and professional life for the employees. Some of the changes brought in the work place helped to increase job satisfaction, lessen absenteeism, increase productivity and help to retain the employees and found enhanced commitment towards the organization. There is a general perception that imbalance in the educational institutions for teachers are very less compared to other professions. But, studies have shown different results based on the various variables taken into consideration. This study is undertaken to explore the interference of work into the family life and the family aspects into the work for the teachers especially who teaches in the higher classes. The data is collected from women and men teachers to find out whether there is an imbalance in their life and its effect on job satisfaction. The data is collected from selected established colleges that run pre-degree courses. It is decided to collect the data from married male and female teachers with at least one kid. It is expected that this study will able to throw light on job satisfaction and work life balance among the teachers who are teaching in the higher classes. The expectations of teachers with different age, experience, income etc can be understood in detail. The findings of the study can be considered for designing future work-life balance policies and programmes for the teaching fraternity.Keywords

Job satisfaction explains the comfort and the content with the job of an individual. The enjoyment that an individual receive while performing the job makes the result of the job a favorable one and result in high level of satisfaction. Family satisfaction is the amount of happiness shared by the family members to fulfill their needs and interests. This study gives emphasis on both job and family satisfaction. This study tries to find out whether interference of work to family has any influence to family satisfaction and family-work interference has any influence on the job satisfaction. Understanding these aspects and bringing changes based on that can transform the work place to a fruitful place for growth and sustainability. More women are entering to information technology companies and contributing much to the success of the organization. Study is focused to women in information technology to find out the interference and satisfaction. Four selected information technology companies based in Bangalore are considered for the study. Questionnaires are prepared and emailed to the women employees. Three hundred and seventy one samples are collected. Full time women employees with minimum of one year experience in that particular company are considered in the study. In this study Hayes Regression test is done to find out the effect of mediating variable between dependent and independent variables. From the study it is found that mediating variables like work-family interference and family-work interference is not mediating between job satisfaction and family satisfaction and vice-versa.

There are transformations happening in the social and economic front in the rural areas of India. Among the many changes, perception on women’s employment in information technology-enabled service companies among the rural society is emphasised in this study. This paper focuses on the views among the rural public towards changing woman’s roles and responsibilities in the family beyond the roles as a mother or wife due to an increase in women’s employment in information technology-enabled services companies. The article tries to examine whether there is a change in the perception between males and females in the rural area towards women’s employment. Besides, the study tries to see whether the working woman’s contribution to family wellbeing is influenced by childcare, more earning by husband, household duties and good relationship with children. Eight hundred and eleven samples were collected from four different districts of two states in India. The statistical tools used for the study are T test, Anova, multiple regression and discriminant analysis. The demographic variables considered for this study includes age, gender and education. The regression analysis revealed that wellbeing of the family is related to woman’s involvement in taking care of children, involving in household activities and maintaining good relations with children. The discriminant analysis reveals that there is no difference between the genders regarding her employment. The mind set of women taking care of children and household activities still remain priority but their perception that husband’s earning should be more than wife and spending extra time outside for official purpose is not given significance. There is a positive change in the attitude of the rural society towards woman’s employment. Her involvement in childcare and household activities is for the wellbeing of the family and for the future generation. This positive outlook encourages more women to the workforce in rural areas.Keywords
